Lush Cosmetics Henna- Rouge

I went in Lush the other day just by chance. I asked if they had any shampoo which would help keep in my Red hair dye because at the moment every time I wash my hair the colour just runs and runs and runs out! It’s because I had bleach underneath it from previously being blonde that hair dye struggles to stay on it.

They lady in Lush Cosmetics told me about their Henna hair dye and recommended it saying it will really stay on my hair and give it some warmth.

This is what the Henna block looks like:

This was the colour of my hair previous to using Lush’s Henna (excuse the kink!)

You have the break the Henna blocks up into small pieces and place them in a heat proof bowl with boiling water to melt the coco butter and release the ingredients. Once you mix and stir it, it should look like melted chocolate.DSC03178

Then you use a colouring brush to smooth it onto your hair, it looks really disgusting!DSC03185

If you want the colour to go brighter the instructions advise you to wrap it in cling film or put a shower cap on your head. You then have to leave it for 1-3 hours. I left mine for 3 hours as I wanted it to go really red.DSC03193

This was the outcome!DSC03412

It went more ginger that Red. To be honest I was really disappointed because when the lady in the store said it was ‘Red’, I think she meant the classic ‘Redhead’ meaning ginger. When I clearly meant a deep blood red colour. Never mind almost 4 hours of my life wasted on a dodgy colour haha 😀

To be fair I don’t mind the colour, it’s just not what I originally wanted and if anything it has given my hair some warmth for when I go over it with a different dye. 🙂 Always a silver lining!

    Hi Annie !
This color looks amazing on you 🙂

You should have a look at Aromazone – Henna. They have 100% natural powders that you can mix to obtain the color you want.
